Catherine: Love is Over.
26 10 2011Catherine is the terrifically fresh mysterious relationship-testing horror puzzler by ATLUS, a company that’s infamous for their Persona video game series. Our hero(?), Vincent is contemplating (while drinking at the bar Stray Sheep) whether or not to marry his long-time girlfriend Katherine. He meets the voluptuous Catherine there. She sits next to him, they talk, she’s his type too and uh, er, a one night stand occurs, yeah. After this rendezvous with Catherine, Vincent begins to have nightmares. In these dreams, Vincent (in his boxers and clutching onto a pillow) along with other “sheep” have to keep climbing or perish; the so-called climbing echoes the retro Q-Bert arcade game and a soaring Jenga-ish tower, except that it is way more arduous and deadly to scale. Can’t slow down either. The tower is collapsing!
Furthermore, depending on how Vincent answers particular texts and queries throughout Catherine, his meter may (or may not) strongly fluctuate between a mystifying blue side and red side. Also, the core narrative of the game is grandly told. The rearrangements and remixes of well-known classical music totally accentuate the intensity and the horror aspect of Catherine. For some the game’s difficulty might be a bit nightmarish sometimes, but don’t ever give up, keep on climbing!
Haven’t had enough yet? Babel mode features randomized bonus stages, crafted specifically for one player or two players to ascend. Challenging Babel can unlock more songs for Jukebox and the online Time Attack mode. To boot, don’t forget about Rapunzel, an old school game inside the Stray Sheep bar during story mode that has an impressive sixty-four levels of puzzle-solving madness to undertake. There’s no tricks, no enemies, merely blocks, but it is ultimately a deceiving task to surmount.
In Colosseum mode, two players can be tormented and endure variations of stages Vincent had to cautiously and quickly climb up in the game’s story mode: The Golden Playhouse. All forms of the “blocks” that the Catherine video game tortured Vincent with appear in this head-to-head climbing competition
In a nutshell, ATLUS’s Catherine is an unequaled experience that deservedly warrants umpteen replays so poor Vincent can suffer again and again and again. And with multiple endings and other various goodies to achieve, Catherine will continue ravaging Vincent’s life for a long time.

Happy Turkey Day!
25 11 2010Well, well… We are getting closer and closer to the end of another year. Once again we are on a day where togetherness usually ends up being “watching tv” or ” listening to everyone talk while you kinda just sit back and find something to do”.
With the advent of the Wii years ago and the recent release of Kinect for Xbox 360 and Playstation Move. How are you using that to gain back some TV time.
I myself have introduced Kinect to my family… and they want one now too. Dance Central does that to people i notice.

The Walking Dead TV Series
13 11 2010Warning: The Walking Dead isn’t a show for the squeamish.
Violence and Language permeate each episode.
The show chronicles a group of survivors living day to day in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse with one goal in mind: to escape from the walkers to a place where they do not roam. Sheriff Rick Grimes leads this diminutive group of survivors as they struggle with the walking dead and what remains of the Earth’s desperate living populace. Together, this group believes it can survive however evident dissension among the humans (along with gargantuan hordes of walkers) threatens to devour them all.
Remarkably, overall reception to humans enduring in a dystopian, depressing, desolate world overtaken by zombies has been startlingly upbeat fetching in 5.3 million viewers the premiere episode on Halloween, making it the most-watched first episode of any AMC television series.
Adapted from the horror comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman with art done by Tony Moore, The Walking Dead, despite its name is surprisingly human. The TV series is a movie-quality cinematic drama about humanity and zombies. Creator Robert Kirkman had this to say about The Walking Dead:
“To me the best zombie movies aren’t the splatter fests of gore and violence with goofy characters and tongue in cheek antics. Good zombies movies show us how messed up we are, they make us question our station in society, and our society’s station in the world. They show us gore and violence and that cool stuff too, but there is always an undercurrent of social commentary and thoughtfulness.”
Every Sunday night, I turn off the lights and become engrossed in a fictional reality that depicts the gritty aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and the human beings battling to never lose hope but to simply keep on living. They don’t stop believing, they can’t afford to. Without hope there is nothing. And against all extreme odds the humans continue to survive, to live.
That’s why I watch The Walking Dead.
And I’m guessing that’s the reason why the walkers are spreading across America.
Also, after the first two episodes, AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for a second season already!!!
The Walking Dead is on every Sunday @ 10 on AMC followed by an encore presentation @ 11.

Tips on How to Survive Undead Overrun or Undead Nightmare Preview
28 10 2010Just played Undead Overrun. Which is a brand new mode for Red Dead Redemption that came out with Undead Nightmare. The DLC so far is really great. But this is about a developer i played with. RedDeadDev17. Don’t know his name. But talked at lengths with him about games he liked and games that i liked and he let me in on some secrets in the game. Undead Overrun is a survival gametype but there is a catch. You cannot and you will not survive. There is a time limit for this gametype that can only be boosted back up 1 minute at a time by opening coffins that appear at the beginning of each wave.
- Tip #1 Use your Undead Bait near the coffin but not to near this will give you plenty of time to get the sucker open and get away while a teammate throws dynamite and or holy water into the crowd.
The coffins resupply your ammo and you have the chance of getting another Holy Water. Holy Water is probably one of the coolest weapons in the game . You do not want to be near it when it goes off. Holy water calls down the wrath of God and Lighting Strikes and Explosions go off everywhere in the vicinity of the area you threw it in.
The waves start off real easy but soon things get hectic. If you played the Left 4 Dead series and you think that gets bad. Try this. After the first couple waves you realize your in trouble. Reloading takes time and time is something you dont have.
- Tip#2 Now if you find yourself in a pickle and are stuck trying to reload pop into Dead Eye and right back out Instant reloadification. Yes i know Made up that word. But it helps .
There are more tips that i could give you but i’ll leave it up to you to figure everything out . This DLC is worth a buy in my book. It adds a whole new single player campaign which to me is better than the release campaign although both are great in its own right.
We lasted for 32 mins on Undead Overrun using these techniques . We made it to Wave 35. Our time ran out and we went into sudden death. No more Coffins , No more Ammo. RedDeadDev17 and I were the last 2 remaining. Unfortunately He passed before I did and there was nothing i could do to help him. I shortly was Overrun by the Undead, without anyones Aide.
Full Review for Undead Nightmare to come.

15 Games(/series) that will always stick with me
29 09 2010On that blasted social network Facebook i was tagged in a note by some friends… But unlike usual notes that i can’t think of anything to put this one is a sure-fire way to get my brain going… because games are amazing and have always been a big part of my life.
So instead of confining my answer to just Facebook I’ve decided to make it a feature here on [tpn].
(And because i have way more than 15.. i will be condensing down series into one listing so i can one fit more and two display what i truly like.
